3 months agoBefore I checked in I had been on the road for 3 days hiking and driving what seemed like forever as this is West Texas. So let me just say that the Gage Hotel was figuratively and literally like an oasis of comfort and perfect place to relax and recharge I only booked one night as I'm passing through. My only wish is that the Gage was located inside the park so I wouldn't have to drive an hour or two before hiking all day. I'm definitely looking forward to a future stay. This place is a gem.

4 months agoMyself and my 14 year old son stayed here for two nights in mid October as a base camp for seeing Big Bend. They were so busy this time of year that we stayed in one room one night and another for the second. The first night we were in the main building (Room 9). It was beautifully appointed, spacious, and comfortable. We had no issues with noise. They very graciously had housekeeping move our luggage into the new room (Los Portales #26) for the second night while we were in the Park. Sadly because of our packed schedule we didn’t get to enjoy most of the hotel offerings other than the fire pit the first night. We met some lovely guests who’d been coming to The Gage for over 40 years. It’s clear this is a very special place. I cannot wait to return with my husband and spend much longer so we can take full advantage of the restaurants, bar, and spa.

2 months agoA charming hotel I stumbled upon during my final stretch into Big Bend from Houston! Really beautiful and clean hotel from my short visit. Bookmarking so I can suggest this as a place to stay--thanks to the lovely staff and kitty that make this place special.

5 months agoWe loved every bit of The Gage. The lonesome country, the historic hotel and the views. The wellness spa was awesome and the food was great. The gardens are beautiful. Overall it is a great place to slow down your pace of life and relax.
