Couples who prefer an outdoor setting, lakeside views, country scenery, and an overnight escape may especially enjoy the experience.
It may also appeal to couples who want guidance with the ceremony details instead of starting from scratch. Depending on the package selected, BlissWood may provide the officiant, flowers, cake, champagne, seating, décor, photography, and reception setup.

BlissWood offers couples more than a place to exchange vows. The ranch creates an opportunity to slow down and make the wedding part of a countryside escape.
Couples can marry beside the lake, take photographs among the oak trees and open land, stay overnight, and enjoy time away from the pace of Houston. The natural setting may also provide a more personal and relaxed atmosphere than a traditional event venue.
Another advantage is the range of package sizes. Couples do not have to choose between a courthouse ceremony and a large wedding. BlissWood offers several steps in between, from an affordable elopement for two to an all-inclusive micro wedding with 25 guests.

5 months agoI cannot say enough. This was a mom and son week end and my 13 year old son loved it! Carol is an amazing host. She did so much to accommodate our schedule. She is a doll! We stayed in the log cabin. I highly recommend it! Like stepping back in time. Ruth took us on an amazing horseback ride, she was a sweetheart. It’s so beautiful here. The stars, the trees. Just amazing. Richard was by far our favorite. He took us on the safari and we LOVED it. The bison and red stag are my favorites. The lemurs were so cute and they were my son’s favorite. My son loved feeding them. But the trap shoot with Richard was the highlight of our trip. My husband and daughter were so jealous that they missed it, so we are booking the cowboy cabin now. You just can’t go wrong with Blisswood. Carol has created something truly amazing with this place. One of a kind.

3 months agoOur family had a wonderful stay at BlissWood Bed & Breakfast Ranch during spring break. We spent two nights at the Lehmann House with our toddler and our 10-year-old, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable family getaways we’ve had. Carol, the ranch owner, is truly one of a kind. She was incredibly responsive and flexible in helping us arrange activities, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. There was so much for the kids to enjoy. They absolutely loved horseback riding, petting the baby animals, hugging the horses, biking around the ranch, fishing, and going on the safari tour. One of their favorite moments was feeding the donkeys, deer, and even the bison. It was such a special experience to see them so excited and connected with nature. The Lehmann House was very well prepared and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt cozy, peaceful, and perfect for families traveling with kids. BlissWood is truly a great place to retreat, refresh, and relax away from the busy city. We’re already talking about coming back again. Highly recommend for families looking for a unique ranch experience!

a month agoBlissWood Ranch is beautiful, tranquil, and truly great for all ages. This was our 4th time coming here for a weekend getaway from Houston, and it continues to be such a special place for our family. Carol is an amazing host. She went above and beyond to accommodate our family of four, even when we had a few last-minute needs and changes. She is always responsive, kind, and helpful — even late at night. We truly appreciate the care and hospitality here. I can’t recommend BlissWood Ranch enough!

7 months agoWe had the best time at Blisswood! We booked the Texas Dude Ranch Package for my husband’s birthday, and it was such an unforgettable experience. Richard was an incredible instructor, and Justine made our horseback ride so fun and relaxing. Just an hour from Houston, it’s the perfect little getaway that feels like a true escape without being too far from home. Highly recommend! We’re already planning our next visit!

3 months agoWe spent an incredible evening at their secluded cabin towards the back of the property. The cabin was spacious, and we appreciated that the two bedrooms were on opposite sides, giving everyone privacy. The hot tub was a definite bonus, especially with the cool weather — it was 34 degrees outside during our stay, which made using it perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable with soft sheets, and there is a lot of room on the property to enjoy. We also appreciated some of the small details we paid extra for, like the bed decorated for a romantic getaway and a bottle of champagne. Breakfast was available for an additional charge, but it was minimal — more of a continental style. It would be nice to see heartier options, such as kolaches or quiche, especially considering the price point. There were a few areas for improvement. The kitchen had adequate utensils, but the gas stove was tricky to navigate, and a spatula was missing, making it harder to cook eggs. In the main bathroom, there was a sewage smell coming from the toilet area, so we avoided using that bathroom and kept the door closed to prevent the smell from reaching the bedroom. The grill out back worked fine, but it would benefit from some kind of slab or pavers since the ground turns to mud when it rains, despite the covered tent. Only two chairs were set up for the campfire area, though we weren’t able to use it because of a burn ban. We didn’t try the other activities on the property, but other guests have recommended them. Don’t forget to sign the guestbook if you stay — the host usually leaves one in each cabin. If we return, we would consider staying at a different part of the property. Since we live out in the country ourselves and found this place through Yaya Club, we know it’s convenient, but I’d recommend being selective about which cabin you choose. Overall, this is a decent country getaway with a lot of charm, though there are a few areas that could use improvement.
