BlissWood offers couples more than a place to exchange vows. The ranch creates an opportunity to slow down and make the wedding part of a countryside escape.
Couples can marry beside the lake, take photographs among the oak trees and open land, stay overnight, and enjoy time away from the pace of Houston. The natural setting may also provide a more personal and relaxed atmosphere than a traditional event venue.
Another advantage is the range of package sizes. Couples do not have to choose between a courthouse ceremony and a large wedding. BlissWood offers several steps in between, from an affordable elopement for two to an all-inclusive micro wedding with 25 guests.

in the last weekWhat a fabulous, memorable country experience! Management and staff are incredible, attentive, responsive, helpful, kind, and their passion for the animals and property itself is filled with so much genuine love and care that it’s palpable in the best way! The accommodations were comfortable, quaint, rustic, quiet, private, and well equipped. Everything I needed was provided: from flash lights, kitchen supplies, toiletries, maps, clear and simple instructions on how to use and maintain everything provided, and extremely dog friendly. I came with my dog, Oakley, for an adult getaway and cannot wait to come back with my four children and extended family. The animals are so well cared for and at peace that the energy is magnetic and soothes the soul. The horses calmly and happily greeted us every time we took a walk or road through the property on the private golf cart we rented. I brought my pup with me to almost every activity and left her comfortably to sleep in the bungalow when needed. The staff ensured that the animals on property and my dog were safe and comfortable prior to allowing any animals to interact, even on opposite sides of fences. Oaks joined the safari, kayaking, fishing, and multiple walks through the grounds daily - peacefully co-existing with the grazing horses. I strongly recommend every single activity I had the privilege to try! Horseback riding, trap shooting, exotic safari, kayaking, fishing, and star gazing. If you’re looking to recharge your batteries, unplug, unwind, and feed your soul with close proximity to Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, Heaven, Blisswood is the place for you too!!

a week agoOur stay at BlissWood was truly a magical experience. It was the perfect getaway to disconnect from the busy routine and reconnect as a family surrounded by nature. Our girls had an unforgettable time. The safari was such a unique experience, and horse riding with Ruth became one of the highlights of our trip. Her kindness and patience made it incredibly special for them. We stayed at Lehmann House, and it felt like living inside a museum. Every room is full of character, history, and beautiful details. Waking up surrounded by the towering trees and peaceful scenery felt like being on a movie set. It is one of those places that makes you slow down and appreciate the moment. Thank you for creating such a special place. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to come back.

3 weeks agoWe had a wonderful two-night stay at the entire Dog Trot House at BlissWood Ranch. The house was peaceful, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It offered the perfect balance of privacy and comfort while still letting us enjoy the beautiful ranch surroundings. We also loved the pool view! One of the highlights was how quiet and serene the property is. Waking up to nature, seeing the wildlife around the ranch, and enjoying the open spaces made it easy to disconnect from everyday stress. The Dog Trot House itself was spacious, comfortable, and full of rustic charm. It felt like a true Texas ranch experience while still providing modern conveniences. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family trip, or simply a peaceful place to unwind, this is an excellent choice. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely return. We highly recommend BlissWood Ranch to anyone looking for a unique, relaxing stay surrounded by nature.

a month agoI rarely write negative reviews, but this was by far the worst accommodation experience of our entire trip. The house: Nothing like the photos. Upon entering, we found cockroaches, there were mosquitoes inside, and the overall feeling was that of an old, neglected, and practically abandoned house. Everything was much more worn than it appeared in the listing. Furthermore, the ranch is extremely isolated, which wouldn't necessarily be a problem if the place felt safe, but its current state creates the exact opposite effect. The ranch: The land is spectacular and has enormous potential, but it's completely wasted. It feels like an abandoned place. There are numerous wooden buildings and barns in total disrepair, with rotten wood, visible cracks, and an appearance that suggests they could collapse at any moment. Many of these areas are surrounded by scrap metal, old objects, and abandoned trash, conveying an image of utter neglect instead of the charm of an authentic ranch. The grass and grounds are very poorly maintained, so it looks more like an abandoned farm than a working ranch. The staff: The person who answered the phone was very friendly throughout, but once we arrived at the ranch, we didn't see a single soul. The place seemed completely deserted, which is very unsettling in such a remote location. At no point did we get the feeling that there would be staff available if any problems arose. The animals: This was undoubtedly the most disappointing aspect. The horses seemed very thin and neglected. The goats were confined to a small enclosure compared to the vast expanse of land available. Furthermore, there were hardly any other animals on the ranch, which is also very different from the image the accommodation projects. We booked this place expecting the experience shown in the photos and described in the advertisement, but the reality was completely different. It's a real shame because the natural surroundings are beautiful, but the state of disrepair of the ranch and the overall feeling of neglect mean I absolutely cannot recommend it.
