BEST AUSTIN GETAWAY! I ventured out to Rancho Moonrise for a musical showcase featuring Marfa Band and Monica Valli and I'm so glad I did! Not only did we love the location and venue, but being only 25 minutes outside downtown Austin made for a sweet little drive into the countryside. It was such a peaceful retreat and easy to find. We were greeted by two precious donkeys on arrival and the rest of the staff was just as friendly. I'd highly recommend making a daytrip out here for the pool, musical showcases, glamping, or other fun yoga events. They also have horseback riding and such a cute aesthetic! Perfect for a small or medium lowkey Hill Country Wedding Vibe.

We initially booked our wedding at Rancho Moonrise, but ultimately decided to cancel after a concerning experience. Prior to booking, we let the venue know we would be visiting with my fiancé’s parents and staying overnight so they could experience the property. When we arrived around 4:00 PM, there was very loud music coming from a neighboring property that continued until we left around 11:30 PM. The music was clearly audible throughout the grounds and inside the tent we had reserved for the night. I’ve included a video so others can understand the level of noise. This is not the sort of situation I would want to find myself in on the day of my wedding or put my guests staying there through. Afterward, we reached out to the venue to ask whether this was a one off situation and whether they could ensure it would not happen on our wedding day. We were told they could not guarantee it wouldn’t happen again, and would not be able to intervene if it did. We understand that venues cannot control everything outside their property. However, given the financial commitment involved in booking a wedding venue, we were hoping for more reassurance or a proactive plan to address potential disruptions. Ultimately, we felt uncomfortable moving forward without any guarantee or contingency plan in place. For couples considering Rancho Moonrise, I would recommend asking specific questions about neighboring properties and noise management before booking, especially if having a quiet, controlled atmosphere is important to you.

I stayed at Rancho Moonrise for one night during the Marfa band concert and honestly had such a lovely time. The staff were super friendly and fun to talk to, and the whole place just has this calm, welcoming energy. I spent most of my time by the pool, which was so peaceful, definitely my favorite spot on the property. You can really feel how much care they put into the place because everyone there, staff and guests, had the same good energt. I’d love to come back for a weekend getaway from Austin sometime soon

It has this perfect mix of relaxed Texas charm and elevated style. You can tell a lot of heart went into creating the experience here. Would recommend for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay or event space!

Rancho Moonrise is such a hidden gem! Me and my girlfriend were looking for some respite from the busyness of SXSW and came here to hang out by the pool for the afternoon. The hotel is tastefully designed and surrounded by serene countryside. We loved the pool playlist and the thoughtfully curated gift shop was a lovely touch too :) we’ll be back for sure!
