2 months agoWent on my first all girls trip with my two dear and lively friends. We stayed in Alpine Texas so we can be close enough to drive to Big Bend. And this spa was a great idea and glad my friends husbands planned for us. Glad they have this spa because we all need some TLC after a hike, camping, horseback riding or whatever activities you pick. The place was claiming and relaxing. The rooms are nice and cozy for a massage or facial. It was all very soothing and I felt very at peace. The staff were super respectful and accommodating. Very nice Spa and staff was great.

2 months ago4.5/5 - We had a very comfortable stay at the Gage Hotel when we visited Big Bend National Park. The rooms are small but adequate, complete with toiletries and the typical amenities. It's true there are no TVs in the rooms, but I felt it added to the experience. I enjoyed the unique Western character and quality finishes that you just don't get at the cookie-cutter chain hotels. Breakfast offerings are complementary but minimal, so we opted to go next door to the V6 Coffee Bar and ordered a more substantial meal before our days at the park. Service was good and staff were friendly, as was Squeaks the cat, who pops in and out at will and added a bit more charm to our stay.

2 months agoMy husband and I loved our 2-night stay at The Gage hotel. Friendly staff, quiet, beautiful historic building. We booked the Alfred Gage Suite… it has a TV! This spacious suite’s gorgeous decor and fabulous bathroom with large shower are spectacular. Loved it!

2 months agoAfter 5 days in dry, hot Big Bend with the family it felt luxurious to arrive at the Gage hotel. We stayed in one of their house/suites which is across the street. Still close enough to walk and take advantage of all of their amenities including the pool and 12 gage restaurant (despite other reviews there is no dress code and families more than welcomed!). Wonderful stay to top off our Texas adventure.

a month agoStayed 3N at the Gage Hotel in their Captain Sheperd Inn building. We were there from Sun-Wed and used it as a base for our Big Bend NP exploration. Lots of history at both the main hotel and CSI, and we were comfortable with our room and separate bathroom. The CSI, built in late 1800s has creaky floors which adds to its charm. The room was clean and we slept well after our hikes at the NP. Keep in mind that the CSI is old, but renovated, so if you need Ritz Carlton, this is not it. Most bars/ restaurants are closed M-W but we found the main hotel had a nice continental breakfast to get us started and also nearby was V6 coffee house which had great breakfast burritos for dine in or wrapped to-go if wanting an early trip to BBNP. Everyone we met at the hotel or restaurant was friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a gateway to BBNP.
